A public consultation on Europe's quantum roadmaps is open until 16 August 2026. Six draft documents, totalling around 192 pages and written with more than 50 contributors, cover quantum chip industrialisation, quantum communications, computing and simulation, sensing and metrology, the supply chain and enabling technologies, and standardisation. They are published on the Quantum Flagship's SRIA pages.

Announcing the consultation on LinkedIn, Daniel Vert, who takes part in the standardisation working group, stresses the need for rigorous benchmarks, shared metrics and reproducible protocols. Without them, comparing technologies and judging when a system is ready for industrial use stays guesswork.
